Disability Evaluation for Disability Determination

DISABILITY EVALUATION for Disability Determination

A Disability Determination Evaluation is a 2-3 hour evaluation using real and simulated functional activities to accurately determine and report an individual’s symptoms and physical limitations for work/vocational tasks. This information is often used to assist the client’s doctors in the completion of Medical Statement forms requested by attorneys to assist in disability determination decision making.

The Disability Evaluation provides the following data:

  • symptoms
  • neural integrity
  • range of motion
  • dynamic strength
  • endurance for static positions and movement tasks
  • body mechanics
  • posture tolerances
  • degree of effort and related symptoms
  • potential adaptations for work ability

We utilize the ERGOSCIENCE Physical Work Performance Evaluation system that was developed at the University of Alabama. This evaluation system has demonstrated consistent reliability and accuracy supported by clinical research. The evaluation results are interpreted, and a recommendation is made regarding the client’s vocational ability
